Fishing Reports and Forecasts for Lake Norman 12-11-11

This report submitted on:

Spots & perch continue to gorge themselves on small forage - herring & shad. Just about every fish we boat is stuffed full, and spitting these samll baits all over the place. We're catching them from 15 ft. deep all the way down to the bottom in 65 ft. of water. Lead jigging spoons fished below sabiki rigs continue to be most effective. Sea birds are back on the lake in force so use them to locate the bait, even when there is no surface feeding activity. And don't forget to rig the live perch as baits. The largest bass(catfish or stripers too) we catch typically come from a live bait. Water temps are falling into the upper-mid 50F range, but we fished in 60+ degree water today on the south end of the lake. Fish On!
